It has been a busy summer for GDHA! Our House of Delegates meeting was hosted in Athens, Georgia this past July and I was very impressed with the discussions, insight and vision from our component representatives from around the state. It was truly an honor to be inducted to the office of GDHA President at the meeting alongside this stellar group of colleagues. Vice President Kendra McKune and Treasurer Valerie Dangler-Ferro are new transplant leaders from Arizona and bring new ideas and energy to the GDHA leadership team. Justin Oliver, our new Historian will have us embracing our past and Past President, Janeime Asbury will be strengthening our communication channels by serving as Secretary and Webmaster. Immediate Past-President Erica Michell, will be serving as the Legislative Chair, representing GDHA at the state capitol and Suzanne Newkirk, Chair of Government Affairs will help GDHA advance our advocacy efforts and develop collaborative partnerships with interested parties. Alicea Snellgrove is our new Public Relations Council Chair and April Catlett, is the new Members Relation Chair. Together, they will keep everyone informed and engaged on what is happening in our professional association. Joanna Harris-Worelds is the new Chair of our Research and Professional Development Council; her team will help us stay committed to evidence-based practice and locating quality resources. Please help us welcome these new leaders to GDHA.
