A message from Misty Mattingly, President of the Georgia Dental Hygienist’s Association

Georgia Dental Hygienists’ Association is a Constituent of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Representing Dental Hygienists throughout the State of Georgia.

Gerogia Catch Up“Time to Catch Up” is a campaign of the Georgia Dental Hygienists’ Association to raise awareness of the oral health needs in Georgia and the provision of preventive care offered by registered dental hygienists. The question most often asked when seeking legislative change is what do you want? Our answer is simply to “catch up” with how hygienists practice dental hygiene across the nation.

This campaign is focused on making change that would align our laws and rules with the normal supervision guidelines and scope of practice observed in a vast majority of states.

HB 684 promotes Georgia’s public health infrastructure where dental hygienists may provide dental hygiene duties to include; nonprofit clinics, health care facilities, long-term care facilities, school based programs and other facilities or settings approved by the Georgia Board of Dentistry.
